Wedding Hairstyles
Adding a floral twist to your hair brings a lovely, fresh feeling to your look

One popular option is to wear flowers in your hair. In temperate countries, flowers are traditionally used during Spring weddings. Luckily, Singapore’s always experiencing Spring/Summer (although it’s definitely more Summer than Spring) so it’s a look you can consider year-round! Fresh blooms add a youthful burst of colour and romance. Here, Martha Stewart offers some tips:

In general, use larger blossoms with simple styles, smaller ones for more intricate looks. Opt for flowers that are in season and are resilient. Some flowers shouldn’t be used near your skin, for safety reasons; your florist will be able to guide you to sensible choices.

Our hairstylists will be able to recommend flowers that can match your dress to make sure the whole look is cohesive.

Wearing an intricate dress? Then sometimes simple is best.

A dress with lots of lovely lace details often calls for something simple that doesn’t overwhelm. Opt for a classic chignon or an up-do with loose waves – still interesting and pretty, but not distracting.

The one on the left isn't a wedding hair-do, but still, it's a look that shorter haired ladies can consider!

For ladies with shorter hair, creating volume is an interesting way to wear your hair. Slicking it back with a wet look can make you look glammed up and pretty. For chin-length hair, gentle waves can frame your face giving you a more romantic, relaxed look.

Nothing will make you feel more like the princess of the day than to wear your hair down and in gorgeous loose curls. If you have lovely details on the back of your dress, this look can even help to draw attention to them.

Feeling a little more adventurous? Adding a fascinator to your look – whether with some romantic tulle, or even a Queen of the Day headgear – creates interest and draws attention to your face and impeccable make-up. For the bold and fashion-forward, the hair can be in loose waves or else swept up, depending on the proportions of the head gear and the cut of the dress.
