We’re approaching the end of the year! We will be spending the rest of November and December 2019 taking a look both into the new decade, as well as back into the best looks of 2010s.

The Centre Part

This has been going strong for the past year and looks like it’s still set to stay into 2020. We think that the centre part has such lasting power because 1. it’s really easy to style 2. it has versatility. Slick your hair into a low bun or pony tail, and boom, you have a chic, pulled-together look. Wear it in loose waves and effortlessly channel a carefree look.

That said, one thing that stood out on runways (Victoria Beckham, Prada) this year is the extreme side part. Slicked down, perfectly and precisely parted, this look can be your power look at the office.

Choosing the right styling products is key, as well as well-conditioned, healthy hair. To achieve the best results, apply gel to damp hair. Most people’s idea of gel is still stuck somewhere in the 90s, with the horror of stiff spikes from that era. But fear not, gel has evolved a lot since then, and there are plenty of options that provide a firm hold without stiffness, flaking or stickiness.

Chin-length hair

If you’re contemplating shortening your hair, but don’t really know how short to go, then chin length would be a great place to start. Paired with a centre part, it’s a great way to look put together while looking fresh and youthful. However, this is no severe, square bob – it’s about keeping the ends gently tousled.

Hair trends for 2020 also emphasize healthy, natural looking hair – and this will apply to the colour trends we’ll be seeing too. Stay tuned for our hair colour report for 2020!
